Privacy policy

This site exists to tell you about six books. It asks for one thing only — an email address if you want to hear about new titles — and it never sells or shares what it collects.

Who is responsible for your data

victorwongbooks.com is the author website of Victor Wong (the pen name of Asst. Prof. Dr. Veraphong Chutipat), based in Bangkok, Thailand. For anything on this page, the contact is [email protected].

What is collected, and when

  • Your email address — only if you type it into one of the two signup forms on this site and press the button. Nothing else is asked for: no name, no phone number, no address.
  • Standard server information — like every website, the host records the requests it serves (IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time). This is technical data kept for security and for keeping the site up; it is not used to build a profile of you.

Browsing this site without submitting a form collects no personal data from you.

Who else is involved

  • Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — the mailing-list service that stores the addresses submitted through the signup forms and sends the emails. The form on this site posts your address directly to Kit. Kit's own privacy notice applies to what it holds: kit.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare, Inc. — the hosting and content-delivery provider that serves this site, and therefore processes the request data described above: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
  • Amazon — the buy links on the book pages point to Amazon, which has its own privacy notice for anything you do after you arrive there. This site passes no information about you to Amazon.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts — there is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party script on any page. The only third party that may set a cookie is Kit, and only in the course of handling a form you have submitted.

Signing in with Amazon

Some internal reporting and advertising tools operated by the author are authorised through Login with Amazon. If you ever sign in to such a tool with your Amazon account, we receive only the profile details you consent to share on Amazon's own consent screen (typically your name and email address), and we use them for one purpose only: to authorise and operate that tool. They are not added to any mailing list and are never sold, rented or shared with anyone else. You can withdraw that access at any time from your Amazon account's Login with Amazon settings.

What is never done with your data

  • Your email address is never sold, rented, swapped or given to another list.
  • You receive no marketing email you did not ask for — the list is used only to announce new titles and send the free chapters that come with them.
  • Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

How long it is kept, and how to have it deleted

Your address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Write to [email protected] and your address and any associated record will be deleted, promptly and without argument — and no later than 30 days after your request. You can also ask what is held about you, or ask for a copy of it, at the same address.

Children

This site is about investing books and is not directed at children. No personal information is knowingly collected from anyone under 13, and any such record found will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date below. There is nothing here that would be changed quietly: what is described above is the whole of it.
